| 16.- Bose sound system
Although Bose makes some great home stereos (I have Bose 501s at home) it seems like they make some crappy car stereos. Here is a layout of speakers and amplifiers.
Seems like most stereos in the Nissan 300zx eventually fail. The problem seems to be with the amplifiers inside the speaker boxes. Each speaker box has a built in amplifier. It is my "own" theory that the reason the amplifiers burn is because there isn't enough air flow to keep them cool.
Possibly the best fix when the amplifiers start to fail is to replace the whole Bose system to include the head unit. There are some places that will repair them but the problem will eventually re-occur. [ http://www.carstereohelp.com ]
To replace the Bose system one will have to pull out head unit and speaker boxes, new brackets will have to be made
or the existing boxes will have to be modified and cut in order to accept standard speakers.
